A heart's song...

Psalm 107
“…Give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love… and tell of his works with songs of joy...”

I have been doing a bit of homework for a post-license real estate class. The instructor asked us to write down our goals and our business plan. Last night I worked on some numbers and today I needed to type where we saw ourselves in three, five, ten, and twenty years from now. As the boys are napping I was goal making, business planning, dreaming, and praying….then I began to become so overwhelmed with the blessings of the Lord. Yes, material blessings are in abundance- but that’s not what overwhelmed me. What was overwhelming was the complete love that comes with the verse that says that we make our plans but he determines our steps. What Love! He not only died for us, but he lives for us! Our Heavenly Father- God of all the Universe- the One who made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross. The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail; they may roar but they cannot cross it. His decision is the last! My future is held in his hands. I can picture my dad’s hands…I can picture them on the shoulder of a child who maybe he has just met…the child may be crying in the depths of his soul, but when a touch comes from a tender, loving hand something melts….a hardness that the enemy longs to keep in each of us- is melted at the touch of our Creator. He may use a human hand to touch us sometimes, for the pathway of the touch doesn’t matter, it’s the source from which it comes that brings the power. I’m so thankful for the touch of my Savior, Lord, and Best friend on my life. He not only has touched it, but he guides it, leading us from the palm of that tender, loving hand. It’s like I can hear His whisper- He’s telling me once again that this is the way- this is the way, His way- “This is the way, walk in it. I am God and there is none like me. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. I am your helper.” How BIG He is and how small I am. For who am I that He should love me so? Jesus’ blood never will fail me- never. "I want to give you everything, my Lord. Would you open up my heart so that I could love you more?" Though I fail Him daily, He will never, never fail me. Sing your songs of freedom- For he enables me to go on the heights!

Isaiah 30:15
…In quietness and trust is your strength…

2 Corinthians 4:18
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

John 16:33
“…But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

'Lil Thief...

I wasn't sure whether to put this picture up here or not b/c this is a total act of disobedience (he did get punished after dad took his picture!!) ....but if we can put that aside and just see the humor then I guess this pic is pretty funny....yes, he was naked (just for a split second after gettting out of the bath) and in those few steps from his bathroom to his room he found mom's purse...and mom's gum...he thought quick and found cover under mom and dad's bed...you can see the wrappers in the corner
